Do not use a random firmware from the internet. Wrong firmware = bricked box.
Solution: This is a “hard brick.” You may need an RS232 serial programmer (TTL) connected to the board’s UART header to reload the bootloader. For most users, this means the device is beyond DIY repair.
Follow these steps exactly. Do not rush.
Step 1: Format the USB Drive On your PC, right-click the USB drive → Format → File system: FAT32 (not exFAT or NTFS). Allocation unit size: Default. Click Start. 1509 Dvb-t2 512m Firmware Update
Step 2: Copy the Firmware
Copy the firmware file (e.g., flash.bin) directly to the root of the USB drive. Not inside a folder.
Step 3: Power Off the Receiver Unplug the 1509 DVB-T2 receiver from the wall outlet. Disconnect the antenna (optional but recommended to avoid interference during flashing).
Step 4: Insert the USB Drive Plug the USB drive into any USB port on the receiver. Some 1509 models have two ports; either is fine. Do not use a random firmware from the internet
Step 5: Initiate the Update (Method A – Automatic) Plug the receiver back into power. Many 1509 models detect the USB file on boot and automatically show “UPdt” or “Updating...” on the front LED display. If this happens, skip to Step 7.
Step 6: Initiate the Update (Method B – Manual via Menu) If automatic boot doesn’t work:
Step 7: Do Not Interrupt The screen may go black, show a progress bar, or count up from 0 to 100%. You may see text like “Erasing... Writing... Verifying.” The entire process takes 1-2 minutes. Write down everything – You will match this
Step 8: Automatic Reboot After completion, the receiver will reboot itself. When you see the channel scan screen or menu, remove the USB drive.
Step 9: Factory Reset (Recommended) Go to Menu → Installation → Factory Reset or Restore Defaults. Enter the PIN (usually 0000 or 1234). This clears old channel data that may conflict with the new firmware.
Step 10: Rescan Channels Perform a new automatic channel scan. Select your country and scan type (DVB-T2). Do not restore a previously saved channel list.
