    Now that the license server answers, install the solver and CAE.

    Step 2.7: The "Disc 2" Swap Midway through installation (around 60%), the installer will prompt: "Please insert the media labeled Abaqus 6.14 Disc 2".

    Step 2.8: The Documentation (Optional but Recommended) The documentation is a separate 3 GB installer. If you install it:

  • Ran server_install.bat as Administrator.
  • Verified license service in lmtools.exe.
  • Configure scratch/temp directories for large runs.
  • Configure user subroutines (Fortran) compilation settings in abaqus_v6.env or via command-line options.
  • Set up remote run and monitoring scripts if using HPC clusters.

    • Before you open the installer, ensure your system meets the requirements. Abaqus 6.14 is older software, so it runs best on older operating systems, though it can be made to work on Windows 10 with specific tweaks.

    This is the most common error.
