Adobe Audition 1.5 Setup
You cannot just double-click Setup.exe anymore. Here is how to trick modern Windows into cooperating.
During installation, you may see: "Failed to install Audition ASIO Driver" or "Wave device not found"
Ignore these. Click OK or Skip. The default drivers are from 2004 and will not work on modern hardware. We will install ASIO4ALL in the next section.
Here is the tricky part. When you double-click Setup.exe on Windows 11, you might get: "This app can't run on your PC." adobe audition 1.5 setup
Solution: The 32-bit Windows trick.
Result: The software runs flawlessly on Windows 10/11 64-bit, though the "CD Extraction" tool will fail (no modern CD drivers). Use the "Open File" menu instead.
Before diving into the setup, let’s address the elephant in the room: Why would anyone install 20-year-old software? You cannot just double-click Setup
After you spend hours perfecting your setup, back it up:
To restore on a new PC, import the registry, copy the sessions folder, and reinstall ASIO4ALL.
Audition 1.5 expects a classic Windows MME or DirectSound driver. Modern interfaces use WASAPI. The bridge is ASIO4ALL. The Registry Hack (For advanced users):
Important Note: Adobe Audition 1.5 is legacy software (released in 2004). It is not officially supported on modern operating systems (Windows 10/11). For best results, use Windows XP, Vista, or 7, or a virtual machine.
Before launching the program, right-click the executable file (Audition.exe) or the desktop shortcut and select Properties.
This resolves many graphical glitches and prevents the software from crashing when trying to access system audio drivers.
