When Netflix and Amazon Prime arrived in India, the assumption was that freedom from censorship (the CBFC) would lead to artistic renaissance. Instead, production houses realized that sex and vulgarity travel across language barriers. Shows like XXX and Mastram capitalized on this, but the "masti" version came via low-budget web series that are essentially stag films with laugh tracks. bad masti xxx
