It had shoulders like a gorilla but walked on two legs like a man. Covered in dark brown hair. I stopped the truck. It turned its head – not a bear’s face, not a man’s. The eyes were yellow. Then it stepped into the trees. No sound. No tracks the next morning. I don’t tell this story in real life. But I’m telling you now: they know we’re scared.”
