Cyan Brain Demo 81 Nekouji Studio 〈FAST ★〉

As of this writing, Nekouji Studio has not announced a full release of Cyan Brain. According to their official X (Twitter) account (@nekouji_studio), Demo 81 is "a proof-of-concept for a larger narrative about digital dementia."

However, dataminers have found assets in the demo labeled:

This suggests that Cyan Brain may be an episodic project, with Demo 81 serving as Chapter Zero. Nekouji has a history of releasing demos years before the final product. Their previous title, Hollow Chroma, had a demo (Demo 24) that released 18 months before the full game. cyan brain demo 81 nekouji studio

There are no verbs like "jump" or "shoot." Instead, the mouse controls a "focus cursor." You highlight floating neurons. When highlighted, they emit a low-frequency hum. If you align three neurons in a specific geometric pattern, the environment recalculates—walls dissolve, new pathways emerge.

The catch? Holding focus for too long causes the screen to "bleed" magenta, indicating cognitive overload. The demo punishes over-analysis. As of this writing, Nekouji Studio has not

For the uninitiated, Nekouji Studio has built a reputation for short, atmospheric experiences that feel like lost PS1 demos recovered from a corrupted hard drive. Cyan Brain takes that concept further.

Demo 81 isn’t a traditional game demo. There are no objectives, no tutorial, and—initially—no clear interface. You wake up (or boot up) inside a pulsating, geometric space where the only consistent color is a searing cyan. Think NaissancE meets Kane & Lynch 2’s digital bloom, but filtered through a malfunctioning neural implant. This suggests that Cyan Brain may be an

While the visuals grab your attention, the mechanics hold it. Cyan Brain Demo 81 is a first-person puzzle-platformer, but it eschews standard portal-based logic for something more organic: The Resonance Echo.

The core gameplay loop revolves around a device called the Lucid Resonator. When activated, the player emits a cyan pulse that does three things:

The demo introduces these mechanics gradually. The opening chamber is a simple tutorial where you must pulse to grow a bridge of calcified bone. By the end of the 45 minutes, you are solving layered puzzles where you pulse, wait for the Echo to step on a switch, then reposition yourself on a rising platform before the pulse window closes.
