Absolutely. The "Trials of St. Lucia" DLC is not just a wave fighter. It contains story beats bridging the main game to the (sadly cancelled) sequel, Dante’s Purgatorio. You unlock the Mouth of Hell scythe and the Lucia’s Blessing armor, which transforms New Game+ into a power fantasy. Without the Gnarly Repack method, these items are functionally locked to the average player. Subject: Dantes Inferno - DLC - RPCS3 -

Visceral Games’ Dante’s Inferno is not a faithful academic translation but a bombastic, God of War-style hack-and-slash. It follows a crusader, Dante, who returns home to find his beloved Beatrice murdered. He then pursues Lucifer himself through the nine circles (Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery). The game was notable for its mature themes, innovative “absolve or punish” QTE mechanics, and a striking art style influenced by Gustave Doré and Wayne Barlowe.

Crucially for this discussion, the game was supported by post-launch DLC. The most significant was the Trials of St. Lucia pack, which added a cooperative horde-mode arena. Other DLC included the Dark Forest pre-order pack (giving access to the Disco Inferno costume and the relic “Azrael’s Scythe”). For a modern player seeking the complete Dante’s Inferno experience—with all weapons, relics, and the co-op trials—simply owning the original disc is insufficient. The DLC was locked to the now-defunct PlayStation Store for the PS3, making it abandonware in all but legal name. This created the first layer of Hell: the unavailability of complete content.
