Unlike the original DOOM 3, BFG Edition uses checkpoint saves. R.G. Mechanics repack does not restore quicksaves – that’s a game engine limitation, not repack-specific.

The original BFG Edition on Steam or GOG consumes approximately 12–14 GB of hard drive space. The R.G. Mechanics repack utilizes advanced compression algorithms (like FreeArc or LZMA) to shrink the download size to roughly 4.5 GB to 5.5 GB.
