Remember when you had to chip away at a hero's HP bar? 7.40 laughed at that concept. This was the era where damage numbers went through the roof. Burst damage became king, and if you were caught out of position for even a second, you weren't just punished; you were deleted. It forced players to respect vision in a way few patches ever have. It was brutal, fast, and unforgiving.

Instead of a passive buff, backdoor protection is now a charge system (starts with 3 charges, recharges every 5 minutes). A team can manually activate backdoor protection on one lane for 20 seconds, but using a charge leaves the other two lanes completely vulnerable. This has created a new mind game: fake a push in one lane, drain their charges, then commit to another.
