Open Device Manager on Windows:
Example Hardware ID: USB\VID_04A9&PID_173A → That matches Canon PIXMA MG3620.
Here’s something most blogs skip: Windows Update often has the driver built-in.
Instead of hunting ZIP files:
No ZIP, no manual install.
Assuming you have identified your printer as, say, Canon PIXMA TR8620 (often mislabeled as F158200), here is the clean install using a ZIP driver.
Before downloading, ensure your printer matches the description: driver printer canon f158200 zip hot
Note: If your printer is actually a LBP2900 (which also has specific regional codes) or another model, please check the front of the device for the "PIXMA" or "i-SENSYS" branding. This guide focuses on the PIXMA E500.
Since “F158200” isn’t recognized by Canon’s official site, use this 3-step identification method.
If you see a file named "f158200.zip" – do not run it. This is likely a misnamed part driver or malware. Delete it and download only from Canon. Open Device Manager on Windows:
Look at the front or bottom of your printer. Ignore numbers that say "P/N" (Part Number) or "S/N" (Serial Number).
Correct label example: Canon PIXMA MG2520, Canon i-SENSYS MF3010, Canon LBP6020.
Turn off the printer. Disconnect USB.
Install driver manually:
Connect the printer (HOT PLUG) – Now plug in the USB while the computer is on.
