If you have a generic E2S V2 Pro (not the latest genuine version with potted controller):
If that fails, you need a controller swap (e.g., BrainPower 36V/25A controller, $25 on AliExpress). That removes all limits but requires soldering hall sensors and phase wires.
The V2 Pro uses a rear drum brake and an electronic front brake (regen). At 15 mph, these stop you in roughly 4 meters. At 22 mph, stopping distance nearly doubles. The drum brake overheats rapidly, leading to brake fade exactly when you need it most.
Why does E Wheels limit the scooter in the first place? The V2 Pro uses a sine-wave controller. Manufacturers impose speed limits for three reasons:
The "hack" essentially overrides the factory PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) limits or tricks the controller into thinking it is running on a smaller wheel diameter.
Instead of risking a fire or a face-plant, consider these legal alternatives:
The E2S V2 Pro has a folding stem mechanism with a single clamp. At 45 km/h, it’s solid. At 65 km/h, the front wheel develops harmonic oscillations. Without a steering damper, you will experience a tank slapper.
