Your L3256 refuses to print. You can’t even scan. The status monitor shows an error. Without the adjustment program, the printer is a brick.

If you replace your L3256’s mainboard, the new board may have incorrect counter data. Running the adjustment program initializes the EEPROM correctly.

Note: This program does NOT fix clogged nozzles or paper jams. It only resets counters and adjusts firmware parameters.

Even with the right tool, things can go wrong. Here are fixes for typical issues:

| Error | Probable Cause | Solution | |-------|----------------|----------| | “Communication error” | Printer not in “Service Mode” | Turn printer off. Hold Stop + Power + Stop buttons. Release when screen changes. | | “Checker not found” | Wrong program version | Ensure you have the L3256-specific utility, not a generic L300 series. | | “Counter not resetting” | Pad physically full | The printer may have overflow protection. You must physically clean or replace the pad. | | Program crashes on launch | Missing runtime DLLs | Install Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2022 (x86 version). | | “Wrong destination” | Region mismatch | Use the “Initialization” tab to set destination to your country (e.g., EMEA, Asia, America). |
