Unfortunately, cloned boards exist. Some clones attempt to mimic the license key but fail the verification algorithm in newer EZCAD3 versions.

If the key is not verified, the software will typically run in Demo Mode, which prevents laser output, limits save functions, or shows a watermark on the marking area.

Many laser manufacturers (Cloudray, OMTech, Golden Laser) bundle EZCAD3 with their machines. If you bought a used laser and need a separate license:

Windows 10 and 11 updates often break the virtual COM port drivers that EZCAD3 uses to read the dongle. If you see “Verified” but the laser doesn’t move, you need to reinstall the Sentinel drivers located in your EZCAD3 installation folder (C:\Ezcad3\Drivers).
