To get the True Ending, you cannot kill him with physical damage alone. You must redeem him. Forest Haven – mandatory events:
If you kill him normally: You get the "Duty" ending (Bad ending).
If you redeem him: You get the Crown Key. Unlocks the tower for the True Ending.
