Insect Prison Remake -v0.60- By Eroism

Unlike major studios, the creator known as "Eroism" maintains a low profile. Active primarily on platforms like SubscribeStar, Discord, and certain image boards, Eroism is known for:

Critics of Eroism cite the game's "abrasive" UI in v0.60 and occasional save-file corruption bugs. Supporters, however, praise the sheer artistic commitment to the "bio-horror erotica" niche.

Developing a remake is a balancing act. Eroism faces the unenviable task of satisfying hardcore fans who loved the janky, punishing nature of the original while attracting new players who expect modern mechanics. Version 0.60 feels like a compromise struck perfectly. Insect Prison Remake -v0.60- By Eroism

It retains the obtuse puzzle design—where finding a key might require solving a riddle etched into a cocoon—but streamlines the tedium. The inventory system has been cleaned up, and the save points (represented by nests of writhing larvae) are more strategically placed to reduce the frustration of backtracking.

However, the game is not without its teething issues. Being an early access/iterative release, v0.60 still suffers from occasional scripting errors during boss fights. A particularly intense encounter with a Centipede Warden in the ventilation shafts can sometimes clip the enemy through a wall, breaking immersion. Yet, the community surrounding Insect Prison seems willing to forgive these glitches, viewing them as part of the charm of an indie project pushing the boundaries of RPG Maker engines. For the uninitiated, here is what you can expect during the opening of Insect Prison Remake -v0.60-.

You awaken in a cocoon-like cell with no memory of your capture. Your HUD is minimal: health, a "Pheromone Level" (new to v0.60), and an inventory grid. The first puzzle teaches you the "Shard System"—sharp pieces of chitin that serve as both lockpicks and improvised weapons. Critics of Eroism cite the game's "abrasive" UI in v0

The early game is a tutorial in desperation. You have no weapon except a rusty shank that breaks after two uses. Your goal is to reach the "Queen's Thalamus" on Floor B4. However, Floor B1 is guarded by Larval Hunters—blind but sound-sensitive insects.

A key v0.60 tip: Do not use the light switch in the Generator Room. It attracts a Swarm Drone. Instead, use the "Oily Rag" item from the Laundry Chute to create a smoke decoy.

The adult content triggers when your Pheromone Level hits 100%. This can happen by breathing certain fungal spores or being hit by a Drone's stinger. Once triggered, a "Submission Check" occurs, leading to one of several animated scenes. Eroism has designed these to be avoidable via a "Soft Mode" toggle, but the game's core identity remains firmly in the adult space.
