Install Pro Tools 103 10 On High Sierra Now

Avid’s installer certificates expired years ago. High Sierra will refuse to run the package if it thinks the date is “too modern.”

Pro Tools 10 is a 32-bit application.
macOS High Sierra is the last macOS version that can run 32-bit apps (macOS Mojave and later dropped them entirely).
However, Avid only officially supports Pro Tools 10 up to OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion).

Installing on High Sierra is a hack – it might work with serious compromises. install pro tools 103 10 on high sierra

Do not double-click the installer yet. Instead:

For each package, double-click, allow Gatekeeper to run (Control-click if necessary), and click “Install.” Enter your admin password when prompted. Avid’s installer certificates expired years ago

Cause: iLok driver mismatch.
Fix: Uninstall PACE drivers (run /Library/Application Support/PACE/Anti PACE Support/Uninstall PACE.pkg), reboot, reinstall iLok License Manager v3.18 (legacy release).

The installer needs to write files to system-protected locations that SIP blocks. Do not double-click the installer yet

Cause: CoreAudio initialization failure.
Fix: Delete com.avid.ProTools.plist + run in low-resolution mode (Get Info on Pro Tools.app → check “Open in Low Resolution”).
