"Lightroom won't import from my SD card." Windows might be blocking the drive. Open Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > File System. Allow Lightroom to access removable drives.

Lightroom CC on PC uses .XMP files. Place them in: C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom CC\Profiles or simply double-click the .XMP file while Lightroom is open.
Like the Classic version, Lightroom CC is non-destructive. Your original files remain untouched; the software simply saves a set of "instructions" on how to display the image. You can revert to the original file at any time.
