Mad Island How To Tame Bigfoot -
Before you even think about hunting for Bigfoot, you need to prepare. Going in blind is a recipe for disaster. Here is your pre-tame checklist:
Once the taming bar fills, Bigfoot will lie down. You need one final item: The Colossal Saddle (crafted at the Advanced Workbench using 10 Leather, 5 Chain, and 1 Sapphire).
Equip the saddle, walk up to his head, and press R. He will stand up with a green nametag. You have officially tamed Bigfoot.
Lead Bigfoot directly over the trap. The moment the jaws snap shut, Bigfoot will be immobilized for roughly 15 seconds. Do not celebrate yet. A trapped Bigfoot will thrash. Use this time to pump 15-20 darts into its thick skull.
Sure, you could tame another tribesperson. You could build a cannon. But when you ride Bigfoot through a hostile camp and he picks up a cannibal and uses him as a club to hit other cannibals, you’ll understand. Mad Island How To Tame Bigfoot
In Mad Island, you don’t tame Bigfoot to survive.
You tame him so the island knows who the real monster is.
Bigfoot does not spawn everywhere. Forget the starting beach or the desert. You need to go to the North Eastern Redwood Forest.
Pro Tip: There is a unique "Alpha Bigfoot" that spawns inside the hidden cave behind the waterfall at X: 900, Y: 300. Do not attempt to tame the Alpha version until you have tamed a normal one, as the Alpha requires 3x the resources. Before you even think about hunting for Bigfoot,
Weaken (Do Not Kill)
Apply Status Effect (if required by version)
Initiate Taming
Defend During Taming
Feed After Taming
Step 1: Weaken Him (Carefully) Bigfoot has a massive health pool. You need to lower his HP to make him susceptible to status effects, but do not kill him.
Step 2: Apply Status Effect Once his health is low (roughly below 30%), switch to your Sleep or Paralysis weapon.
Step 3: Restrain Once he is asleep or paralyzed, walk up to his body. Bigfoot does not spawn everywhere
Step 4: The "Breaking" Phase This is the most unique mechanic of Mad Island. Simply tying him isn't enough; his "Will" or "Reason" stats need to be reduced so he submits.
Step 5: Recruitment Once his Will is broken (usually hitting 0 or a specific threshold), the interaction menu will change.
