La fuente y la campana (The Fountain and the Bell): Composed in 1942, this piece was inspired by a courtyard in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. It focuses on the "substance" of the objects—the solitary, muffled bell and the essence of the fountain—rather than literal water sounds.
El lago (The Lake): Written in 1947 and inspired by Montjuïc Park, this movement explores the "waterness" of a lake through decaying harmonies that evoke distant nostalgia.
