NC Tamil fonts are a set of non-Unicode, Tamil-script fonts developed by Nithin Chandran (NC). Unlike modern Unicode Tamil fonts (like Bamini or Vanavil), NC fonts use a custom encoding (often based on TSCII or TAB). They are still needed if you:
Because they are not Unicode, you cannot type with them using modern Tamil keyboards unless you use a mapping software like Azhagi or Nirmala UI converter.

If you just install the fonts, when you type "k;" you will literally see "k;" on the screen. You need the Tamil ASCII Mapper.
