Pd Runner 0.3.8 Here

In testing on macOS Ventura 13.6 with Parallels Desktop 18.3, PD Runner 0.3.8 performed flawlessly for over 60 days of simulated trial resets. The app never crashed, and memory usage remained flat. However, one user reported a conflict with macOS’s Gatekeeper requiring a right-click → Open bypass after installation.

PD Runner 0.3.8 is a technically impressive but legally questionable tool. If you absolutely need to extend the Parallels trial on an older version (17/18) and understand the risks, it works perfectly. For long-term use, buying a license or switching to UTM/VirtualBox is wiser. Do not use this software with sensitive data or in a corporate setting.

Last tested: March 2025 on macOS Ventura 13.6.1, Parallels Desktop 18.3.0.

It is important to note that the effectiveness of PD Runner 0.3.8 was temporary. As Parallels Desktop moved firmly into version 18 and 19, they introduced tighter server-side integrations and hardware ID checks that local runners struggled to bypass. The original PD Runner project eventually ceased active updates as the maintenance burden became too high for the independent developers. In testing on macOS Ventura 13

Today, while PD Runner 0.3.8 serves as an interesting case study in reverse engineering, it is largely considered legacy software. It works only on older, specific builds of Parallels Desktop (mostly version 17).

PD Runner is an open-source utility hosted on GitHub. It acts as a wrapper or launcher for Parallels Desktop. Instead of launching the Parallels application directly, the user launches PD Runner, which then initiates the virtualization software with modified parameters.

Its primary goal is simple: to allow users to run Parallels Desktop without a valid license key. For a long time, this was a relatively simple process of modifying configuration files. However, as Parallels updated their software, they implemented server-side checks and local "detection" mechanisms to identify unauthorized usage. PD Runner was built to counter these specific mechanisms.

The multi-threading engine in 0.3.8 is far more efficient than previous versions. You can specify the number of threads (typically between 50 and 500) to scan hundreds or even thousands of proxies within seconds. Last tested: March 2025 on macOS Ventura 13

PD Runner 0.3.8 can minimize to the system tray and continue checking in the background—ideal for long verification sessions.

The app runs as a menu bar icon. Once activated, it automatically resets the Parallels Desktop trial timer, effectively granting indefinite use of the Pro edition without a license key. It also bypasses the mandatory "sign in to Parallels account" requirement.
