While primarily for editing Master League and full option files, some versions include a "Player Export" feature. You can export your BAL player to a generic player file, edit it with the Option File editor, and then re-import it. Click File > Save

Cause: You edited a value that the game cannot read (e.g., setting "Weak Foot Frequency" to 8 when max is 4). Fix: Restore your backup and make smaller edits. Never edit values that look like "Unknown" or "Reserved."

Launch PES 2010, go to BAL mode, and load your saved career. Your edited player will appear with all changes applied.
