Catia V5 R21 (Release 21) is a version of Dassault Systèmes’ flagship 3D design and engineering software, released around 2011–2012. It is widely used in aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, and other advanced manufacturing sectors.

A portable version of Catia V5 R21 refers to a modified, self-contained installation that can run directly from a USB drive, external HDD, or a folder on a local disk without formal installation into the Windows registry or Program Files directory.

⚠️ Important note: Dassault Systèmes does not officially distribute portable versions of Catia. Any such release is an unofficial repack (often cracked or modified) and is typically intended for evaluation, educational use, or offline/personal environments. Microsoft’s deprecated Windows To Go (or modern Rufus portable Windows 11) allows you to install Windows entirely on a USB 3.2 SSD (256 GB minimum). On that portable Windows, perform a full, normal installation of Catia V5 R21 using your legitimate license. To use it: boot any PC from the USB drive.

Result: 100% stable, fully portable, completely legal.

A: Dassault Systèmes offers a free CATIA V5 Student License (valid for 1 year) including R21 through their academic program. Install it legitimately on your personal laptop. That’s the only safe portable method for learning.
