Cause: OSE.exe cannot find the original Proplus.ww folder (e.g., you installed Office from a USB drive that was removed, or from a network share that went offline).
Fix: Point the installer back to the original source. If you used an ISO, double-click it to mount it, then browse to the Proplus.ww folder when prompted.
For enterprise versions, you can set the Group Policy: “Disable Office Source Engine for on-demand installation” under Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Office 2016 > Miscellaneous. This forces all features to be installed at initial setup.
By default, OSE terminates after installation. However, if it remains active, stop the Office Source Engine service (if listed as a service) via services.msc and set to Manual. Proplus.ww Ose.exe
Note: On a normal installed Office, you won’t find
Proplus.wwon your C: drive — it’s only present on the installation source (DVD, ISO, or network share).
