If you changed the settings and the menus are in English, but the characters speak Russian (or another language), it means you do not have the English voice packs installed.

Before diving into the technical "how," it is critical to understand the "why." Most modern AAA games include multiple languages on a single disc or download. Prototype 2, however, was released during a transitional period for digital distribution.
Assuming you have a legitimate copy of Prototype 2 installed on your PC (via Steam, Origin, or Disc). Prototype 2 Pc English Language Pack
Step 1: Backup Your Original Files Navigate to your Prototype 2 installation directory. Typical paths:
Locate the audio folder and the localization folder. Right-click and copy them to your desktop as a backup.
Step 2: Download the English Pack
Download the Prototype 2 PC English Language Pack from a trusted source. Ensure it matches your game version (usually version 1.0.0.1). If you changed the settings and the menus

Use 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the archive. You should see folders named audio_en or US and text_english.
Step 4: Inject the English Files

Open your game’s root directory. Look for settings.ini or prototype2.ini. If using Steam, you may need to navigate to Documents/Activision/Prototype 2/. This forces Steam to grab the English assets
Find the line that says:
Language = ru or Language = de or Language = fr
Change it to:
Language = en
SpeechLanguage = en
Save the file and set it to Read-Only (Right-click > Properties > Check "Read-only") to prevent the game from reverting the change.
Step 6: Registry Tweak (For Stubborn Installs)
Press Win + R, type regedit, and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Activision\Prototype 2
Create a new String Value called Language and set the data to en-US.
Step 7: Launch and Verify Start Prototype 2. Play the opening tutorial. If you hear Heller yelling about "bastards" during the helicopter crash, it worked. If you hear silence, proceed to the troubleshooting section below.
