Do NOT blindly use a "Kickass Proxy List" without precautions:
When a government or Internet Service Provider (ISP) blocks a website like Kickass, they essentially put a digital barrier between you and the site's server. A proxy acts as a middleman or an intermediary.
When you use a proxy:
Because the request is coming from the proxy server (which isn't blocked) rather than your home IP address (which is blocked), you can bypass the restriction.
For Windows/macOS/Linux. This forces all applications (including your torrent client) through the proxy. proxy kickass list install
Windows:
Linux (Ubuntu/Debian):
export http_proxy="http://proxy-ip:port"
export https_proxy="https://proxy-ip:port"
Then launch your browser or torrent client from that terminal session.
Warning: System-wide proxies break many apps (Spotify, online games). Use only for dedicated sessions. Do NOT blindly use a "Kickass Proxy List"
