Rust is actively developed by Facepunch Studios. Piracy hurts the developers, especially for a multiplayer-only game. You’re also violating Steam’s subscriber agreement.

This is more sophisticated. The fix includes a tool that generates fake Steam "tickets." When Rust asks Steam for permission, the spoof tool intercepts the call and returns a "granted" response. In theory, this can allow you to join legitimate community servers (though anti-cheat software like EAC usually blocks this within minutes).

Even if you ignore the security risks, using an online fix damages the Rust ecosystem.
