Saints Row 2 Powertools SiteThe Nail Gun is the quintessential Saints Row 2 power tool. Available for purchase at Friendly Fire after reaching a certain Reputation level (around 40% completion), this tool is deceptively powerful. Stats: Why use it? The Nail Gun pins enemies to walls. Yes, you read that correctly. Shoot a Ronin gang member near a brick wall, and their ragdoll physics will staple them to the surface for a few seconds. It is the only weapon in the game that offers this environmental execution. Pro Tip: The upgraded Nail Gun fires faster than most assault rifles. Use it in drive-bys—the aiming reticle barely blooms, making it lethal from a Westbury Custom. Against enemies, the Shock Paddles are a one-hit kill on standard gang members. The animation involves the Boss jamming the paddles into the victim’s chest and holding the charge until smoke rises from their ears. Against vehicles, you can shock the driver through the window, causing the car to swerve wildly. If you have been playing Saints Row 2 with just assault rifles and pistols, you have been missing half the fun. The Saints Row 2 power tools category represents everything great about Volition’s magnum opus: creativity, brutality, and humor. Next time you start a Gang War in the Projects, drop the rocket launcher. Equip the Nail Gun. Grab the Jackhammer. Tape down the trigger on the Shock Paddles. Become the Foreman of Fear. Stilwater isn't going to demolish itself. Unlock Order Summary: Get out there and build a bloody empire, one nail at a time. Unlike the Saints Row: The Third version, you can find these power tools scattered organically in Saints Row 2: saints row 2 powertools To understand the function of Powertools, one must understand the primary technical failure of the vanilla game. The power tools aren't just weapons. They’re a mindset. They tell the other gangs of Stillwater: "I’m not here to shoot you. I’m here to renovate this city with your bones as the foundation." So next time you replay Saints Row 2, skip the pistol. Find a jackhammer. Rev it up. And remind yourself why 2008 was the golden age of sandbox absurdity. What’s your favorite power tool kill? Mine is sending a paddy whacker through a cop’s windshield during a Highway Rampage. Share yours below. Stay filthy, Saints. The "solid feature" of Saints Row 2 PowerTools is its ability to fix the "speed bug" on the PC version of the game. Due to poor porting, Saints Row 2 often runs at 1.5x speed or fluctuates wildly depending on your CPU clock speed. PowerTools addresses this by allowing you to manually throttle or stabilize the game's internal speed to 1.0x (normal). Core Features & Functionality Speed Correction: The primary function is to adjust the game speed via a 0.66 = A common setting for users whose game is running too fast (effectively 1.5x). The Nail Gun is the quintessential Saints Row 2 power tool Coordinate Tracking: It can display your in-game X/Y/Z coordinates when you toggle Scroll Lock, which is highly useful for other modders trying to place objects or parking spots. Resolution Editing: Often bundled with a resolution editor, it helps players set custom resolutions not natively supported by the port. Installation & Compatibility Powertools doesn't want to work under windows 10 for some reason. Saints Row 2 is widely considered one of the best open-world crime games ever made, but its PC port is notoriously one of the worst in gaming history. Saints Row 2 Powertools is a critical community-made utility designed to fix the "speedup bug," where the game runs at a significantly faster pace than intended—often 1.5x speed—due to modern processor clock speeds. What is Saints Row 2 Powertools? Powertools is a background utility that acts as a game speed regulator. Because Saints Row 2 was programmed for a specific processor speed (roughly 3.2GHz), any variation on modern hardware causes the game engine to accelerate, making driving impossible and cutscenes unwatchable. Primary Function: Fixes the 1.5x speedup bug by syncing the game speed to the system clock. Debug Features: It can display player coordinates and Speedrunner Compatibility: It is officially allowed in speedrunning communities to improve quality of life, provided it is used to reach the standard Xbox 360-equivalent speed rather than giving an advantage. How to Install Powertools The installation is straightforward but requires administrative privileges to work correctly. Why use it Download and Extract: Extract Run Installer: Right-click Configure Speed: Open If your game is running too fast, try values like Verify: Launch the game; the speed should now be normalized. Common Issues & Troubleshooting While Powertools is a "best-in-class" fix, it can sometimes conflict with modern systems or specific OS versions. In the context of Saints Row 2, "Power Tools" refers to a specific sub-class of melee and explosive weapons that utilize kinetic or pneumatic force. Unlike standard melee weapons (baseball bats, katanas), power tools often feature unique "charged" attacks, environmental interactions, and some of the most graphic finishers in the game. The core power tools in Saints Row 2 include: The name is a joke (Irish slang, look it up), but the weapon is a nightmare. This is a gas-powered circular saw blade on a stick. Warning: Don't use it near your own homies. Friendly fire is on, and you will accidentally behead Pierce. |

| In synthesizer experiments you select the amplitudes and phases of the fundamental and 9 overtones to construct the beginning of a Fourier series. The sum is seen on a graphics display and the signal is available as sound card output. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

You can test the Helmholtz assumption that the relative phases of the overtones are irrelevant to hearing. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
In analyser experiments you capture sound from the sound card or from a WAV file up to several seconds long, select the starting time of the time slice and analyse time and frequency responses. The example shows the spectrum of a piano playing a middle C (262 Hz). The non-harmonic overtones are clearly seen. (Due to the stiffness of the string, the frequencies of the partials are too high.) |

| You may filter data with a digital filter and display spectrograms in color mode. This example shows the spectrogram taken from the word "harris" in the frequency range 0..10 kHz with a 4096-point-FFT every 2 ms (post processing). The formants of "i" and the high spectral components of "s" are clearly visible. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Short time spectral information may also be displayed in a 3-D representation, called "waterfall". The following example shows the waterfall spectrum of the same word "harris" as before. The red layer picks out the spectrum of "i" where the formants are visible again. The presentation may be rotated automatically or manually with scroll bars, in order to select the best "camera point". | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
