Note: The Samsung Galaxy S II (model GT‑I9100) was released in 2011 and shipped with Android 2.3.x (Gingerbread). Official Samsung support ended long ago and there is no official Android 13 build for this device. The steps below describe community-driven, unofficial approaches (custom ROMs, ports, and chroot/container installs), the technical requirements, risks, and safer alternatives.
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first. If you are hoping for an OTA (Over-The-Air) update to pop up on your Galaxy S2, it isn't coming. Samsung officially ended support for the Galaxy S2 (models GT-i9100 and variants) many years ago, leaving it stranded on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. B) Install custom recovery & root (if not installed)
To get Android 13, you are leaving the safety of official Samsung software and entering the world of Custom ROMs.
First boot takes 10–15 minutes. Do not panic if the boot animation loops 3–4 times. If it exceeds 20 minutes, force reboot to recovery and wipe cache.
As of early 2025, the only stable free build is LineageOS 20.0 unofficial by developer rINanDO (XDA). Download from free file hosts (AndroidFileHost, SourceForge). File size: ~450 MB.
