Before attempting complex resets, it is worth trying the factory default passwords. Many users install DVRs and never change the default credentials, or they revert to them in their memory.

Try the following combinations for the Admin or Administrator account:

Note: If you have tried these and they failed, the password has likely been changed by a previous user or installer.

Older Tronitech DVRs (with Hi3515 or Hi3516 chipsets) have hidden system users.

If you can log in with these, go to User Management and change the admin password.

This is the go-to solution for 90% of locked Tronitech DVRs. Be aware: This will erase all settings, user accounts, and, on some models, video footage. It will revert the DVR to factory condition.

What you need: A small paperclip or a tiny Phillips-head screwdriver.

If the physical reset button is broken or missing, you may need to re-flash the firmware.
