The HUAWEI HG255s is an older model (circa 2013-2016). Many ISPs no longer release updates. If you cannot find any firmware newer than 2018, consider these alternatives:
Huawei’s consumer support portal rarely lists the HG255s. Most updates come via ISP.
This is the most difficult step because the HG255s is discontinued. Update Software in HUAWEI HG255s
The file will usually download as a .zip or .bin file. Unzip it if necessary to find the firmware file.
Click Browse and select the firmware file (usually .bin). The HUAWEI HG255s is an older model (circa 2013-2016)
Click Upgrade or Update.
A progress bar will appear. Do not refresh or turn off the router. Match the Hardware Version: Ensure the firmware file
Wait 3–5 minutes. The router will reboot automatically.
