# After download, verify SHA256 (example – use actual from HPE)
sha256sum VMware-ESXi-6.7.0-Update3-*-HPE.iso

| Field | Value | |-------|-------| | ESXi Version | 6.7.0 Update 3 | | Build number | 17499825 (or higher, check latest) | | HPE version | e.g. 670.U3.10.9.0.8 | | File extension | .iso |

⚠️ Avoid older builds < 17499825 – they lack security fixes.

“I can’t find ESXi 6.7 – only 7.0 or 8.0”
HPE moved 6.7 to Legacy/Archive section. Look for “Previous versions” or “Archive” tab.

“Download requires a support contract”
Use the Software Depot (Method 2) – it allows public downloads for patch bundles and custom images in many cases.

“Is ESXi 6.7 still safe?”
No – 6.7 is End of General Support (Oct 2022) and End of Technical Guidance (Nov 2024). Only use offline/air-gapped labs.

After downloading the image (let’s call it HPE-ESXi-6.7U3.iso), verify its integrity:

If you manage a large fleet of HPE servers, the SPP ISO contains the HPE custom ESXi image as a deployable component. You don’t download the ESXi ISO separately; you use SPP’s “Firmware Update + ESXi deployment” workflow.
