Vrkanojodarksiders
THQ Nordic has not announced any VR titles for the Darksiders IP. The franchise’s last release was Darksiders III (2018) and Genesis (2019), with no Darksiders IV announced as of 2026.
However, VR action games are growing. Games like Asgard’s Wrath 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice VR, and Chronos have proven that third-person and first-person dark fantasy works in VR. If THQ Nordic ever explores VR, a spin-off featuring Strife (ranged combat) in first-person VR could be viable. But there is zero confirmation.
Mechanics:
Death, the last Darksider, waited in a mausoleum of deleted game files. He wore Kaito's own face.
"You built this prison," Death said, voice hollow as a server shutdown. "You wanted a Darksiders game where the player couldn't win. An unbeatable boss. Me." vrkanojodarksiders
Kaito realized the truth. The black wafer wasn't revenge from a rival. It was his own subconscious, uploaded during the accident that killed the testers. VRKanoJoDarksiders was his confession — and his punishment.
"Jo," he said softly. "One last form. A key."
She smiled, pixel by pixel fading away, and turned into a silver key that fit the lock on Death's chest. Kaito turned it. The Horseman crumbled into source code.
Mechanics:
Boss Reactions: Major bosses gain "counter-abilities" during fights. For instance, a boss might develop elemental immunity or summon minions if the player exploits weaknesses of a specific type.
Dynamic Difficulty Scaling: Adjust challenge based on player performance, but with penalties for "eazy" wins:
Kaito Mori had been erased. Not from life — but from the industry he helped build. After a catastrophic neural-feedback loop killed three testers in Project Darksiders Rebirth, his name was scrubbed from every credit reel. His apartment smelled of instant ramen and regret.
One night, a black data wafer arrived. No return address. Just a single word etched into the polymer: VRKANOJODARKSIDERS. THQ Nordic has not announced any VR titles
His fingers trembled as he slotted it into the immersion rig.
"No user agreement. No safety certification," he whispered. "Perfect."
The world dissolved.
