For the "better" sound, route your beat (kick and snare) to the sidechain input of Real-Time Tune. Set the "Noise Gate" to react to the sidechain. If you want the plugin to perform objectively better, do not crack it. Optimize it.
After Real-Time Tune, insert a tape or tube saturator (like Waves J37 or Kramer Tape). Saturation masks digital pitch artifacts, making even aggressive tuning sound “warmer” and more natural.
If you want pitch correction that’s undetectable (not the T-Pain effect), crack vs. legal doesn’t matter — settings do.
