Wilcom 2006 Security Device Not Found Windows 10 May 2026
You need the standalone HASP driver installer from 2006–2008. Do not use the one bundled with Wilcom, as it’s broken for Win10. Instead, use a generic “HASP HL 3.25” driver.
Where to find: Search for
haspdinst.exe(Sentinel HASP Run-time Installer) version 5.87 or older. (Legacy forums often host this).
Method A – Command Line (Recommended): Wilcom 2006 Security Device Not Found Windows 10
Method B – Manual INF Install (If above fails):
Wilcom 2006 requires an older Sentinel HASP driver, not the latest version. You need the standalone HASP driver installer from
Right-click Wilcom.exe → Properties → Compatibility → Run this program for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3) → Check “Run as Administrator” and “Disable fullscreen optimizations.” This helps the app, not the driver, but sometimes triggers a re-detection.
Even with the driver installed, the service may be disabled. Where to find: Search for haspdinst
Windows 10 blocks unsigned drivers. The old Wilcom HASP driver is unsigned.
