If the initial scan didn't isolate the value, do not restart the scan. Use the "Next Scan" button. If you want Supplies never to decrease :

Look at your new supply total.

Go back to Cheat Engine.

Change Scan Type to Exact Value.

Enter the new supply amount.

Click Next Scan (Not New Scan).

Repeat this process until you see the value list on the left shrink to just a few options.
